Hello, I’m Gracie, the only sophomore from TIS on this trip. Today, we had a more relaxing day compared to few days before. We had a sports day at the Faith Academy with the Journey for Hope kids. It started raining around the time when we had breakfast, so those of us who had to walk to the Faith academy, we were really wet when we arrived. When we arrived, the few people that had arrived in a van earlier gave us nametags to help the Journey kids know our names. After a while the kids started to arrive and was divided into the groups. During this time it was pretty loud because there were kids all over the place, and people were shouting to get the kids into the right groups. The ISC students didn’t really run in the game that much, instead we were cheering on the Journey kids who were involved in the games. Half of the time we played in team, and the other half of the time we played in bigger groups, where it was the smaller teams were put together. We had so much fun, running around, cheering for our teams, and also meeting new people. Since our team, team C didn’t go to the Journey for devotions or to serve I didn’t get to meet any of the Journey kids. However, at the sports day I got to meet so many nice kids, like fast Carl, pretty Myriel, quiet Kristine, cute Myra, and so many more! Carl was kind of shy at first, however after a while he would give me hugs when he scored or I scored, hanging on to me when it was time to go. Though I really shouldn’t have favorites, he was my favorite kid there. It was really nice how all these kids enjoyed playing with us, holding hands with some of us that they have never met before, and wanting to talk to us when we are strangers to them. I felt like today may not have a great start, but it was pretty good by the end of the day because of the wonderful Journey kids that I was able to meet.
