While here, we are divided into work teams of about 5-6 students and 2 teacher/leaders. These teams are then given a daily work rotation. I'm going to use Team B as an example. Here is Team B's Monday schedule:
Breakfast
Tutoring 1st graders
Construction
Lunch
Construction
Arts & Crafts
Dinner
Other teams will have similar daily schedules. Teams will also take turns leading devotions in the evenings at either the Children's Home or an after-school center called Journey for Hope. Also, each team will have a rest night once a week.
Our work teams also serve as small groups for planning and debriefing. We will meet together in the mornings and evenings. We will share about our day and pray together.
It can be a little overwhelming with so many people and so many things to do. I've already had to purposely take some time to think, pray, and journal. I've had to consciously remind myself to keep my eyes open for opportunities to show love to others, not only in scheduled service, but also in unplanned ways.
